Podiatry

Biomechanics is the study of forces and their effects on the human and animal body in movement and at rest. Podiatric biomechanics can be best described as the total assessment of the lower limb to define a diagnosis, ascertain the cause and prescribe an intervention, usually an orthotic. A biomechanical prescription orthotic is a carefully constructed device that fits into your shoe and controls your foot motions and weight distribution as you walk and run.

Your first appointment will be for 30 minutes, involving discussing your medical history and current condition. Mr Mann will then advise the best treatment for you and the costs involved.

Mr Grahame Mann is a Podiatric Surgeon who trained in this country and America. He is a surgeon with a special interest in gait analysis (biomechanics), sports injuries and many other foot problems in children and adults.

Podiatric Surgeons are Fellows of the Surgical Faculty of the College of Podiatrists, whose qualification is registered under the Health Professions Council.

Fellowship requires a minimum of six years post-graduate training. This includes a two to three year surgical residency within an approved centre. Podiatric surgeons acquire comprehensive knowledge of related subjects including pharmacology, regional anaesthetic techniques and radiographic interpretation, as well as in-depth knowledge of foot surgery.
