Due to an injury a number of years ago, I became personally engaged with the healing process, ongoing pain issues and the effect that day to day stresses can have on our overall health. My main career was as a Graphic Designer, but I have always had an interest in health and fitness, and the resilience and complexities of the human body.
As my two children came to the end of their school years, I gave myself the challenge of returning to study and qualified to become a holistic, remedial massage therapist. I qualified under the tutorage of Dror Steiner at the Bodyology School of Massage in London.
I am particularly interested in how massage can influence and calm the stress response, as well as alleviating muscle pain and joint tightness. It is exciting to see that in the last few years the importance of self care, at any stage in life, has come to the fore, and massage is now recognised as a worthwhile treatment for a number of health issues, and to help maintain general wellbeing.
In my spare time I love gardening, baking, photography and life drawing – I have a background in art and visit the London galleries often, and was brought up to be a life long supporter of Welsh rugby.
I am looking forward to joining the Cranfold Team and meeting a wide variety of new clients.
