Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help you manage your problems by understanding the links between the way you think and feel and what you then do as a consequence.

When we feel stressed and upset we all have a tendency to interpret our experiences more negatively. This can cause us to withdraw, struggle with our relationships and develop other unhelpful coping strategies.  The aim of CBT is to collaboratively identify where people would like to make change in their lives, giving people skills and understanding to manage those negative patterns.

There is a great deal of research evidence (approved by NICE) to show that CBT works effectively in treating depression and anxiety.

1:1 sessions with Julia explore individual issues and develop targeted strategies and appointments are available on a Monday in Horsham and Cranleigh.

Mindfulness – currently not available

This is a simple concept of paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally. It can improve physical and emotional health, enhancing wellbeing. It is beneficial for all of us negotiating our busy & demanding world, improving sleep, concentration & memory.  It can make you a more effective worker and improve personal relationships.

Mindfulness is widely used within the NHS for a range of problems and is NICE approved for the treatment of recurrent depression (halving relapse rates). It uses a range of different meditative practises, though while the actual skills might be simple, because it is so different to how our minds normally behave, it takes application & practice.

We currently have no courses or workshops arranged, however, if you are interested, please let us know on 01403 721050.
